# Food Hygiene Certificate

**Introduction**

Any activity that involves serving and preparing food at an event or meeting will require at least one exec member to have a food hygiene certificate. This member of the exec must be present to supervise food preparation to ensure that all groups produce food that is safe to eat.

**Certificates**

To facilitate this, we provide a free online course in basic food hygiene on which up to three members of the exec can enrol. This will take around four hours to complete with multiple-choice tests at the end of each section of the course. Once completed, you will get a nationally recognised Basic Food Hygiene Qualification and a certificate.

**How to sign up to the course?**

To sign up for the course, [email us](mailto:societyhelp@lancastersu.co.uk)with the society's name as well as the names and emails of the members who are undertaking the course. We will then provide you with login details and a guide allowing you to complete the course.
